My Amalgam of Projects
A Collection of (Finished) Works in Progress
“What are your WIPs, active and inactive?” This question surfaced on my writing group the other day. It caused some interesting discussion, and sparked the event of this blog post.
Because I’m always working on multiple projects at once, it becomes confusing to know which ones I’m talking about and what’s going on. There are also a great many queued projects I never talk about, though I’ve had their concepts for years.
I update my WIP progresses in almost every newsletter I send out, but I here attempt to order the WIP chaos in a permanent place you can revisit whenever. The purpose is to sketch an overview of all my projects and their current status. As I go along I will keep updating this post and in my newsletter.
Note: the following list covers writing projects only. It excludes conlangs, campaigns, and any other creative endeavours.
Current WIPs (Active)
Operation Mirkwood {temporary name}. A fantasy novel.
Status: plotting. Deadline: 2024. Abbreviation: OM.
An overprotective father and a daughter who’s fighting her fate, both fearing to lose one another separated by death... This is a heart-wrenching tale about facing your fears, living freely yet selflessly, and the power of platonic love.
Seven Identical Noses. A fairytale.
Status: third draft complete; to be edited. Deadline: February 2024. Abbreviation: 7IN.
Once upon a time there were seven brothers with identical noses. They live happily together in their little cottage and nothing can separate them, until one morning disaster strikes. In an event that alters one of the brothers’ noses, their loyalty and union are put to the test. To keep the brotherhood whole, they’ll have to make tough sacrifices. But some of them are unwilling…
(I have to give credit to my good friend E.G. Solanelle from Spire.co for allowing me to recycle one of her old ideas.)

The First Queen Story {temporary name}. A fairytale.
Status: drafted; to be revised. Abbreviation: FQ.
Once upon a time there lived a young princess who has been happy since birth. Her parents, however, saw joy as a great evil - a weakness unbecoming of a queen - and have tried everything in their might to still the joy in their daughter’s heart. Everything changed when one day, her parents called in the help of everyman under the sun, and the young girl is taken on a journey to find herself amidst voices that call her to be otherwise. Through unexpected help, dangerous training, a promising future, devastating tests, and consequential decisions, our princess has to learn to be true to her people, to her enemies, and to who she is herself.
Operation The Villain Story {temporary name}, aka Scribe’s Quest aka the Worldbuilding Project. A fantasy duology.
Status: worldbuilding & concept drafting. Abbreviation: TVS.
This story is probably my magnum opus. I’ve been working on it the longest. It’s about a villain with a redemption arc, a lively girl haunted by death, and peace on the brink of a war. It’s set in a Scandinavian inspired setting.
The Gatekeeper’s Tale. A legendary tale.
Status: concept plotting.
When news of plague reaches his city, the old Gatekeeper’s heart is tested like never before. Loyal to the grievous promise he made to the Gates, he is now faced with the decision: does he follow his ambitions and keep the Gatekeeper Tradition devoutly, or does he forsake the very ideals he lives up to in order to help people in need? With his son’s life at stake, watchful eyes judging his every move, and a heart that only seeks to do what’s right, the Gatekeeper finds himself doubting his beliefs and fighting his morals to gain peace from past regrets.
